Grievance Mitigation Committee (GMC) Head — 01 post

Position: Grievance Mitigation Committee (GMC) Head — 01 post
Role
The GMC Head is an independent position whose sole responsibility is to settle unresolved employee grievances that may have adverse impact on the effective operation of ASAI. The GMC Head is accountable for ensuring that both parties find the GMC mitigation process transparent, informative and thorough, whilst adhering to policy and thus regulations.
She has to carry out her position’s responsibilities in such a way that minimizes risks related with staff privacy and ensure that all disclosures & relevant data & documents will be handled seriously, treated as confidential and managed without fear of reprisal of any form upon any employee. She must adhere to all of the requirements established by the GMC-Chairperson of Group-GMC at each stage of GMC functionality.
Responsibilities
- Employee complaint or appeal and Direct Complaint must be opened by GMC-Head.
- Immediately forward all the received Appeal, Direct Complaint and Complaint reported in GMC-Entity to GMC-Group for further guideline and ensuring adherence to GMC-Group guidelines during the mitigation process.
- Maintain confidentiality in GMC activities and follow respective Entity manuals and Country Labor Law for upholding justice.
- Send the following monthly GMC reports as per format within allotted time:
- “Monthly Meeting & Appeal Report Format” (Annex-1): Two monthly meeting reports as per the “Monthly Meeting & Appeal Report Format” (Annex-1) are to send to GMC-Group. These reports are about the scrutinization and summarization of the received complaint/appeal.
- “Monthly Complaints follow-up report” (Annex-3): This report contains employees’ complaints updated status.
- “Punishment Report” (annex:2): This report scrutinizes whether the taken actions of management against staff for offences are compliant with the respective entity’s manual or not.
- “Quarterly reports on Appeals & Direct complaints”: This report is about the final status of the received appeals and Direct Complaint.
- Manual review—Scrutinization of differences on key practices between HR manual and Labor law regarding such as termination, demotion, promotion, increment held, penalty, transfer and others.
- Lead the GMC sessions as the resource person in the orientation program, training session, exit interview and online training session that will be set by HR of the respective entity.
- Follow and adhere to the GMC policy, procedure, and instructions of Group GMC-Chairperson.
- Conduct physical visits to the respective Entity branches related to the grievance, if needed, after receiving guidance or instructions from Group-GMC.
Education and skills
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Management, Law, or a related field.
- Extensive experience (10-15 years) in managerial roles; priorities retired female professional.
- Excellent verbal/writing communication skills in English.
- Ability to handle stressful situations with grace and professionalism.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
- Track record of delivering excellent results in leadership roles and commanding respect.
- Ability to analyze data and identify trends in staff complaints.

Job responsibilities
- Develop and implement the Company’s commercial strategy to achieve sustainable growth and profitability.
- Lead business development initiatives, market expansion, and customer acquisition strategies.
- Drive portfolio growth and ensure achievement of business targets across all branches and regions.
- Oversee sales, marketing, product development, and customer relationship management functions.
- Identify new market opportunities and recommend innovative products and services to enhance competitiveness.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to support strategic decision-making.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, regulators, business partners, and clients.

- Identify and manage commercial risks that may impact the Company’s operations and profitability.

Academic qualification and experience requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, Finance, Banking, or related field from a recognized institution.
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Finance, Marketing, Strategic Management, or related discipline is highly preferred.
- Minimum ten (10) years of professional experience in Banking, Microfinance, Financial Institutions, or related industries, with at least five (5) years in senior management positions.
- Proven experience in business development, sales management, portfolio growth, and strategic leadership.
- Strong understanding of microfinance operations, financial products, and market dynamics.
- Demonstrated track record in leading large teams and delivering sustainable business growth.

Position: Legal Officer — 01 post
Job responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and guidance to management and various departments on legal and regulatory matters.
- Draft, review, and vet contracts, agreements, MoUs, and other legal documents to safeguard the Company’s interests.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Handle litigation matters and coordinate with external advocates on court cases and legal proceedings.
- Prepare legal opinions and provide recommendations on legal risks and implications.
- Follow up on debt recovery cases and support enforcement of legal actions where necessary.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, government institutions, and other stakeholders on legal matters.
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations and advise management on their impact on the Company’s operations.
- Support disciplinary processes by providing legal guidance on employee relations matters.
- Maintain proper custody and filing of all legal documents, contracts, and case files.
- Assist in preparing board papers, resolutions, and corporate governance documentation as required.
- Conduct legal due diligence and risk assessments for Company projects and initiatives.
- Ensure timely renewal of licenses, permits, and statutory registrations.

Academic qualification and experience requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B) from a recognized institution.
- Admission to the Bar and possession of a valid Practicing Certificate will be an added advantage.
- Minimum five (5) years of professional experience in legal practice or corporate legal affairs is a MUST.
- Preferably experience in working with Microfinance Institutions, Banks, Financial Institutions, Law Firms, or Consultancy Firms.
- Sound knowledge of corporate law, labour laws, contract law, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Experience in handling litigation, debt recovery, and legal documentation.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
