Finance officer – 1 position
Duty station Dar es Salaam
Job summary
Reporting to the Senior Accountant, the Finance Officer will be a member of the Finance Department and will support the overall financial management of MSI Tanzania.
The role includes ensuring the production of financial statements for MSI Tanzania in accordance with IPSA’s and Tanzanian regulations, preparing timely and reliable monthly management accounts, and maintaining the organization’s general ledger.
The Finance Officer will also assist MSI Tanzania’s Management Team in ensuring the integrity of the organization’s management information systems and providing technical support on these systems.
Key responsibilities
Maintenance of MSI Tanzania general ledger
The Finance Officer will be responsible for:
- Maintaining the SUN accounting system to provide accurate and timely information.
- Preparing and submitting accurate financial reports on time and in the specified format.
- Processing and monitoring trade receivable transactions, including:
- Posting invoices.
- Reconciling accounts receivable ledger.
- Resolving uncollected amounts.
- Monitoring aging reports.
- Processing supplier invoices, including:
- Verifying and/or obtaining payment approval.
- Matching purchase orders.
- Receiving reports.
- Addressing exceptions.
- Processing and monitoring accounts payable disbursements, including:
- Recalculating invoices.
- Reviewing account codes for accuracy.
- Verifying supporting documents and data.
- Processing employee retirements of imprests and expense claims, including:
- Checking supporting documentation.
- Reconciling receipt information.
- Reviewing compliance with policy.
- Posting data.
- Issuing monthly statements to staff on staff debtor balances.
Preparation of timely and reliable management reports
The Finance Officer will be responsible for:
- Cash flow management and reporting, including preparation of weekly cash flow forecasts.
- Extracting monthly performance reports for each cost centre, including:
- Centres/clinics.
- Support office.
- Outreach teams.
Treasury
The Finance Officer will be responsible for:
- Managing daily bank transactions.
- Ensuring payments are processed, properly endorsed, and cheques are distributed.
- Ensuring all statutory requirements are met on time, including:
- PAYE.
- Pension.
- Worker’s compensation.
- Ensuring all financial transactions comply with:
- MSI Tanzania policies and procedures.
- Sound accounting principles.
- MSI partnership standards.
Asset management
The Finance Officer will be responsible for:
- Maintaining accurate organizational records.
- Ensuring proper safeguarding of all physical assets, including inventory.
- Ensuring proper safeguarding of financial assets in accordance with organizational policies.
Audit and compliance
The Finance Officer will be responsible for:
- Assisting in ensuring timely and smooth external audits.
- Responding to auditors’ queries.
- Supporting implementation of audit recommendations.
- Ensuring adherence to internal financial policies, statutory regulations, and applicable tax laws.
- Monitoring transactions, preparing timely reports, and coordinating with relevant authorities to maintain full compliance.

Minimum requirements
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
- A professional accounting qualification, or be in the final stages of study, such as:
- ACA.
- ACCA.
- CIMA.
- CPA.
- A Bachelor of Accountancy degree or equivalent.
Experience
Applicants should have:
- At least 2 years of progressive experience with similar responsibilities.
- Ideally, experience in both NGO and private sector environments.

Paediatrician – 1 position

Job summary
The Paediatrician will provide comprehensive, high-quality medical care to newborns, infants, children, and adolescents attending Marie Stopes Mwenge Maternity Hospital.
The role will support safe maternal and child health services through diagnosis, treatment, emergency management, health education, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality, client-centered care.
Key responsibilities
Clinical responsibilities
The Paediatrician will be responsible for:
- Conducting paediatric consultations, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care for:
- Neonates.
- Infants.
- Children.
- Adolescents.
- Providing newborn assessment and management immediately after delivery and during admission.
- Managing paediatric emergencies and stabilizing critically ill children when required.
- Participating in ward rounds.
- Reviewing admitted paediatric patients.
- Documenting care plans appropriately.
- Supporting neonatal resuscitation and emergency obstetric and newborn care services.
- Requesting and interpreting laboratory and radiological investigations appropriately.
- Prescribing medications and treatments according to national guidelines and hospital protocols.
- Ensuring infection prevention and control measures are maintained at all times.
- Providing counselling and health education to parents and caregivers on:
- Child health.
- Nutrition.
- Immunization.
- Growth monitoring.

- Registration with the Medical Council of Tanganyika.
- Valid practicing license.
- Fluency in English, both oral and written.
Experience

- Minimum of 2–3 years of clinical experience in paediatric and neonatal care.
- Experience working in maternity, neonatal, or emergency care settings, which is an added advantage.
